Supt. Ernest B. Lindsey


Superintendent Ernest Lindsey is a native of Orange, Texas and has pastured Starlight Church of God In Christ for the past 34 years, and been in the pastoral ministry for 38 years.  He is blessed to pastor the church that he grew up in. He graduated from Wallace High School in Orange and served four years in the United States Air Force. Afterwards, he attended Texas State University in Houston and later graduated from Charles Harrison Mason System of Bible College.

Pastor Lindsey believes in the power of prayer and moves in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Under his leadership, the church has grown and is a vital part of the community. In 1994, under Pastor Lindsey’s leadership, the congregation moved into a brand new sanctuary, and in January of 2000 the E. B. Lindsey Family Life Center was erected which consists of classrooms, office space, board room with a large fellowship hall. In 2010 he was appointed Superintendent of East Coast District under the leadership of Bishop Rufus Kyles, Jr. Texas Southeast First Jurisdiction, he currently serves under Bishop Johnny Tates, Texas Greater Southeast First Jurisdiction.

Supt. Lindsey strives for excellence in his personal ministry and motivates and leads the congregation to do the same. Starlight church continues to participate in many community projects such as The Orange Jaycees, Orange Christian Services, One Church, One Child of Southeast Texas, The Velma Jeter Scholarship Foundation, Orange County Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, Rusk State Hospital and foreign mission Save Africa’s Children. Starlight is very active in Missions projects.

Pastor Lindsey is an anointed a pastor, teacher, preacher, and shepherd. He is married to Evangelist Josie Lindsey and is the father of five children and fourteen grandchildren.
